Chicago Hoverboard Self Balance Scooter Repair Centers

Where To Get Your Hoverboard Fixed in Chicago

If you own a hoverboard, chances are your hoverboard has broken at some point. If you don't know how to fix your scooter yourself, your going to need to find a hoverboard repair center.

You can start by doing a Google search for Chicago Hoverboard Repair, or if you live in the suburbs search your suburb name or city name and the term "hoverboard repair" or "self balance scooter repair" and you should be able to find someone locally.

If for some reason there's no-one adversing hoverboard scooter repairs you can typically find a local cellphone shop who does the repairs or is at least open to doing the repairs for you.

Two companies which I can speak to personally which I have used is Dr. Gadget and Futuristic whome doesn't have a website but who is located inside of formerly Fox Valley Mall, now known as Westfield.

If your in the City of Chicago you can find a repair shop in Lincoln Park called UBreakIFix

It's good to at least try to fix your hoverboard yourself and learn about the inner workings of the board. You don't have to be especially handy to work on these neat little devices, they are pretty simple devices and there's tons of tutorial like Youtube videos showing you step by step how to do repairs. YOu can also save yourself quite a bit of money by working on your hoverboard self balance scooter yourself.

Fix Hoverboards As A Side Hustle

Fix Hoverboards

If you own a hoverboard chances are you've had to fix your hoverboard at one point or another. Hoverboards are both easy and challenging to fix and repair.

Self Balancing Scooters are somewhat challenging to fix in that there is no one type of hoverboard nor is there any repair guide that tells you how to diagnose problems or how to fix your hoverboard.

Fortunately however they are pretty simple devices, there's only a handful of parts in there. You have the motherboard, gyroscopes, battery, and wheel motors and that's about it, there's only so many parts that can go wrong with a hoverboard.

One of the most common fixes for a hoverboard is the need to recalibate it. This is a fairly easy fix and requires no parts. That is typically the first thing you will want to try to do before spending money on parts to fix your board.

If calibrating it isn't the solution the next most common issue is probably a bad gyroscope, which again fortunately is an easy fix.

Make Money Fixing Hoverboards

The point here is if you've gotten pretty handy at diagnosing problems on your own hoverboard and fixing your own hoverboard why not turn it into a nice little side hustle, put some ads up on Craigslist and Offer Up and start a little hoverboard repair business. Most fixes are fairly easy and many repair guys charge a flat $150 fee regardless of the problem while some charge even more. I've personally charged as much as $250 for a motherboard and two gyroscope replacement job off of Craigslist.

There's some good money in repairing hoverboards. Check your local cities craigslist and offer up and see if there's already competition or if it's wide open  for you to start placing ads and making money.

Hoverboard Parts Kit

It's no secret that these Hoverboard Self Balancing Scooters can be a bit finicky and prone to malfunctions. Though a variety of issues can arise the most common issues seem to be with the gyroscope aka pressure sensor, the on/off button or the charging port, or the battery.

Even if you are able to diagnose and fix your hoverboard, many people don't know where to get parts. Even worse the few online shops that sell parts are raking customers over the coals charging $100 for a single pressure sensor box or gyroscope. In reality this part probably costs less than $2 to make.

Below is the best deal I've found thus far on Hoverboard parts. It's a part kit which comes with the following parts...

(1) Motherboard
(1) Bluetooth Board
(1) Charging Cable
(1) Power Cable
(2) LED Lights
(1) Speaker
(2) Gyroscopes
(2) Power Light Indicators

This is actually a pretty good deal considering most shops are charging $100 for a motherboard, $60 for a bluetooth board, $100 per gyroscope. This kid sells for $82 where as buying these parts all individuallly would cost you over $500 if buying from a Hoverboard Scooter shop.

For those of you who are either handy or have an entrepreneurial streak, after Christmas when people start breaking hoverboards or when they start dying just due to malfuctions and poor craftsmanship there is going to be a huge market for parts and repair.

Whether your looking to start a business selling parts, looking to make a few bucks on the side repairing boards, or whether you have your own broken board you want to fix, this parts kit is a fantastic deal
